Abstract

Recently, several sports associations in Mexico have chosen to become commercial entities, specifically corporations, in order to professionalize their administration and improve their economic viability. This article conducts a legal and business review of this transition, considering the legal basis that supports it, the formal steps for conversion, and the implications in areas such as governance, member liability, the tax system, and the relationship with sports federations. It also discusses the challenges and dangers that this change may present for the social and sporting objectives of these organizations.
